Send us a text

Hey, Happy New Year and thanks for streaming all the past episodes of the Mechanics of Transportation podcast, along with the RVA Bike Scene Podcast, over the past year.

Here's an update on the future of the Mechanics of Transportation.

In this coming year, I hope to continue posting interviews and conversations around transportation and biking here, as well as on my YouTube channel. But I’d love to hear who  you’d like to hear from, what you’d like to know about it. Just let me know.

If you want to support my efforts then please consider subscribing to it by clicking the link in the show notes. You can also help support us by sharing this podcast on all your socials and rating it and leaving a comment in the show notes.

You can also send me a tip via Venmo–at Ian-Stewart-82 or buy me a coffee at BuyMeACoffee dot com / Ian_steawart. And if you’re a sponsor who’d like to sponsor this show, then let us know. Thanks.

And, if you like music, check out Ian’s World O’ Music show on Mixcloud. For 17 years, I had a world music show on a local public radio station, where I also happened to report on transportation topics.

So stay tuned for some upcoming podcasts.

Hey, Happy New Year and thanks for streaming all the past episodes of the Mechanics of Transportation podcast, along with the RVA Bike Scene Podcast, over the past year.

That year, my first year doing this, was spawned by being let go from my public media radio job, where among other things, I was the transportation reporter. I also created the podcast History ReInvented, where I took an historic lookback at Mayo Island & Bridge, as well as Pine Camp, where I also looked at what the future holds for those places. I also launched a YouTube Channel–IanStewartCycles as a place I can post my interviews, as well as my dumb attempts at cycling videos. And I continued posting world music shows on Mixcloud (and in case you didn’t know, I also hosted a similar show on that public radio for 17 years).

Transportation, biking and music–if you can’t tell, is something I have a passion for. I started the podcast as a way to keep my reporting and interests going while I looked for permanent work.

Well, a permanent job didn’t happen yet–but I was lucky enough to be able to write a ton of articles for news outlets like The Richmond, Richmond Magazine and The Virginia Mercury. Plus, I’m the producer and sometimes guest host for the NPR member station podcast and YouTube channel, Full Disclosure with Roben Farzad.

In this coming year, I hope to continue posting interviews and conversations around transportation and biking here, as well as on my YouTube channel. But I’d love to hear who  you’d like to hear from, what you’d like to know about it. Just let me know.
