The Mechanics of Transportation

The Climate vs Transportation

Ian Stewart Season 1 Episode 12

On Episode number 12, Climate Scientist Jeremy Hoffman and I talk about climate change and transportation — going beyond just the exhaust that spews out cars.

The U.S. transportation sector is responsible for more greenhouse gas emissions than any other sector of our economy, and that’s according to the Department of Transportation

Jeremy and I discuss some of the effects that are going unnoticed when you pit the environment against the transportation juggernaut that envelops our entire planet. Plus, he offers some tips for everyone who wants to do their part to help ease the effects of climate change through transportation choices.

In the show, Jeremy mentions ways you can stay informed — one is to read the Fifth National Climate Assessment, which is the U.S. Government’s preeminent report on climate change impacts, risks, and responses.
