The Mechanics of Transportation
How can I get drivers to slow down in my neighborhood? What’s Vision Zero all about? Why does it take so long to get a sidewalk/bike lane or a reduced speed limit approved? Welcome to the Mechanics of Transportation – a podcast that will answer these questions as well as introduce you to people who you may want to share a bike ride, bus ride or walk with.

Are you Cargo Bike Curious?
On this episode – number 11 — I speak with avid cargo bike rider, collector, enthusiast and cargo-bike meetup organizer John Murden.
He and his wife own Garnett's Cafe and Laura Lee’s in Richmond, Va and are partners in The Roosevelt.
When he’s not delivering food from his restaurants on his cargo bike (never via car) or taking his son to school on his cargo bike, he’s holding cargo bike meet ups for the cargo curious, which you can find on his Instagram page, called RVA dot Cargo dot bike.
We talk about the ins-and outs of cargo bikes–how much they run, how they operate and how the majority of riders he sees around town are mothers.
So grab your helmet and prep the side pedal of your choice as we nerd out about cargo bikes.
Coming up on future shows, we’ll talk about climate change and transportation. Have an idea for a topic or show? Drop me a line at ian07stewart@gmail.com and I’ll see if I can cover it.
